Our recent trip to the Eumundi MarketsWest End Twilight Markets. Read more … » was from Noosa on a hot, sunny day.  We found $5 parking at the school, very close to the main action so we escaped a longer trek in the heat.

The markets were crowded with holiday makers keen to spend after Christmas but avoiding the more commercial post-Christmas sales. The markets cover a large area and sell the usual things – food, art, jewelry, clothes, gadgets , souvenirs, etc. There is an excellent range though I thought prices high and many things available elsewhere. Some of the childrens clothing, however, was gorgeous and well priced.

Much of the food on sale also sells at the Sunday Farmers’ Markets at Noosa but it was well-priced, fresh and local.

Over the holiday season free buses run to the Eumundi Markets from Noosa every half hour . Toilets are clean and there are some shady parks at the Eumundi Markets to enjoy your fresh, tasty lunch and cold ginger beer or orange juice. The childrens playground under the enormous figs, is a must do while you are there. You can enjoy your food purchases while your children play in the shade of the trees on the large and well thought out play equipment. There is sometimes a childrens performer here if you are lucky.

There seemed to be a good mix of locals and visitors at the Eumundi Markets, all smiling as they tasted free food samples or paused over possible purchases.
